"You sure you don't have to get to London?"
No.

The bus was long gone when the ambulance arrived. Doree made sure that the boy was warm, tucking the blanket around him. The back of the ambulance opened up and two nurses stepped out carrying a stretcher between them. They placed it on the ground next tothe boy and slowly removed the blanket from around him. One of the nurses checked his pulse.
"He's got a pulse," she said to the other nurse. "But it's faint. We have to hurry."
Together they gently levered him onto the stretcher and placed it in the back of the ambulance. Doree and the motorist who had stopped filled them in on what happened, and the events leading up to their arrival.
"Sounds like you saved his life." the nurse told Doree.
"It was instinct," she replied. "I couldn't let him die."
And she couldn't. As soon as she had seen him fly from the cab of his truck, she had just sprung into action.

All of this she thought about in the car. The motorist, who's name was Dan, had been gracious enough to to offer her a ride into London. Now they sat in relative silence as they sped along the road. When he tried to tell her how much he admired her actions, she found that it was a conversation she did not feel like having. So instead they talked about him. He told her about his life, where he worked, and about a time he took his boat out on the Thames and it almost capsized. He told her about his favorite places to eat and movies he had seen recently, all of which managed to interest her.
"Hey," he exclaimed suddenly. "Have you ever been on the Eye before?"
"No." She told him. In actuality, she had ridden it before, but that had been before Lloyd was committed, and she hadn't dared to go back.
"Hmm... how about this? I can call off work today, and then you and I could take a couple rides?"
She gave him a look that she might've given if something dead had fallen into her lap. She considered making up some kind of excuse, or complaining that he would get in trouble with his boss, but she had a feeling that he wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. And so she agreed to go with him.
"It's a date." she joked.

And in fact, that is exactly what it was. After reluctantly joining him for lunch afterwards at one of his favorite restuarants, he took her on a tour all around London. Even though she had been in London many times before, mainly to visit Lloyd, she realized how little she knew of the city. She marveled at the beauty of the city, and she especially admired the beautiful gardens and bridges that seemed to be everywhere she looked. They went to see Buckingham Palace and the Royal Gardens, and they spent the rest of the day in a small cafe, chatting and telling jokes. Doree was shocked when he complemented her hair, something that she herself didn't like.
It was only when the waiter brought the final course that Doree realized how late it was.
"Oh, is it this late?" she gasped. "I'm so sorry, I have to catch the bus."
"Don't worry, I'll drive you to the stop." he assured her.

"Thank you for everything, today was perfect." she thanked him.
"Thank you!"
"We should do this again some time."
"Goodbye!"
And she stepped on the bus and he was gone.
No.
